Among his many accomplishments, Mikal founded the WORLD’S LARGEST adult basketball league—PortlandBasketball.com—still going strong 30 years later.  With a focus on safety and eliminating risk and liability, he helps organizations build successful youth and adult programs, where INTEGRITY and BEST PRACTICES prevail.

As CEO of P & R Athletics, Inc., Mikal is responsible for every aspect of the business—from managing sporting facilities and events to overseeing six employees and 110 independent contractors per year. He ensures that all personnel understand how to do things the RIGHT WAY, building a culture of safety, success, and cost effectiveness from the start.

In addition to running programs in the U.S., Mikal has experience in the international arena. His International Basketball League, which he founded in 2005 and ran until 2011, included teams from across the U.S., Canada, Japan, and China. As an EFFICIENCY EXPERT, he designed schedules where teams could play 20 games and travel just one time by air, saving tremendous amounts of money for team owners.

Mikal is also a HIGHLY-SKILLED COMMUNICATOR. He has created and distributed 400-plus press releases and spoken at roughly 80 news conferences. He was a guest speaker at the Princeton University Sports Symposium and brings MENTAL AGILITY, KNOWLEDGE, and HUMOR to all his public speaking engagements and marketing efforts.
